I have worked in secure environments and managed community residential services for adults with Learning Disabilities. I currently manage three residential services for adults with enduring Mental Health issues in RCT for a private provider. I have very much enjoyed serving as a Trustee of Advocacy Matters (WALES) for almost a year.

Laura Lees
TrusteeI moved to Wales 10 years ago to pursue my career in horticulture. More recently though I have been volunteering for Journeys Toward Recovery and have an interest in the mental health sector. I have also had personal experience of being an advocate for my sister in law who has learning difficulties. I understand how hard it is for some individuals to speak out about what they want and think its really important for them to have someone to help them do this. I am really pleased to be able to make a contribution to AMW.

Nigel Lynch
TrusteeI was a career police officer, who as a sector Inspector worked closely with the community in the area of Bedwas and Ystrad Mynach. Since leaving the police I have spent time as a mentor to young persons leaving care. I also spent time as an advocate to clients of Merthyr and the Valleys MIND. I am currently employed as a student support worker for students with learning difficulties by Cardiff and the Vale College.

Dee Copeland
TrusteeDee started off, some 17 years ago, as a volunteer with an advice agency setting her on the path to education and training before eventually qualifying to becoming an assessor of those with learning difficulties such as Dyslexia and Dyspraxia. Along the way, she is working hard to catch up with her son to achieve her Masters Degree, so the pressures on! Dee has been married for 27 years and has two children, (both taller than she is!) and is generally unfazed by anything. A Trustee, Dee would like to help AMW to achieve all its aims and aspirations, so that both the advocates and those they support feel valued.

Tony Foils
TrusteeBorn in Ireland, I have lived in Cardiff for 54 years. I have worked at JTI (formally Gallaher JR Freeman) for 32 years, fulfilling the roles of Sales/Marketing, and account management. I firstly became involved with AMW through the companys philanthropy scheme. In 2011 I was invited to join the board and was delighted to accept this offer. I look forward to enhancing the relationship between JTI & AMW.
