Mission, Vision and Values
Mission Statement
At Advocacy Matters (Wales), our mission is to empower individuals with disabilities by ensuring their voices are heard, their rights are protected, and their choices are respected. We are committed to providing independent advocacy that enables individuals to make informed decisions, access support, and fully participate in their communities. Our work focuses on promoting dignity, independence, and equality for every person we support.
Vision Statement
Our vision is to create a society where individuals with disabilities are fully recognized as equal citizens, where their voices are central in decisions that affect their lives, and where they have the autonomy to shape their own futures. We aim to build a world that values diversity, fosters inclusion, and ensures that every individual has the support they need to thrive.
Values
We are guided by the following core values in everything we do:
- Independence – We ensure that our advocacy is free from external influence, acting solely in the best interests of those we support.
- Respect and Dignity – Every individual is treated with respect, fairness, and dignity, acknowledging their unique needs and aspirations.
- Empowerment – We empower individuals to make informed decisions and take control of their own lives.
- Equality and Inclusion – We strive to create a society where everyone, regardless of their background or disability, has equal access to opportunities and rights.
- Collaboration – We work in partnership with individuals, families, professionals, and organizations to ensure the best outcomes for those we support.
- Confidentiality – We respect and protect the privacy of those we advocate for, ensuring their information is kept safe and shared only with their consent.
